Giving Opportunities

According to the National Alliance for Mental Illness, 1 in 5 adults or 61 million Americans experience mental health challenges in a given year. Those who have been diagnosed with a severe mental health condition have, on average, a reduced lifespan by 20 years. A 2011 Oregon State study found that individuals with a severe mental health challenge and who are experiencing homelessness, poverty, trauma or other major health disparity live an average of 40 years—35 years shorter lifespan than the general American population.

Nearly 8,000 people in the Portland metro area experience homelessness or are without housing on any given night. They call streets, alleys, park benches, doorways, building steps, cars, and highway underpasses home.

Cascadia’s services and solutions to reduce these numbers and provide life-changing experiences for individuals and families is strengthened by the generosity of our community. Your gift today will impact lives locally in your community. Join us in Bridging a Culture of Caring.
